Recent oil tests carried out for some of our customers discovered faults on tap change switches. This was causing the transformers to run at a higher than normal temperature and was causing instability in the secondary voltages which in turn was causing plant to trip. The tap change switches together with the transformer oil were replaced, this resulted in the problems being resolved.
